Becky

Becky—a divorced mother of two grown children—was laid off and battling health issues. “I walked into The Women’s Center scared and overwhelmed. I didn’t have a job and was on unemployment—which was so profound for me because I had never been on unemployment, and I was 60 years old!”

Becky joined the rapid employment program. “My initial thought was ‘What do you think you’re going to do for me?’ But, the whole experience was enlightening and helped me identify some changes that I needed to make. From the get go, The Center gave me hope and a connection to a community of support. I was stunned that they had so much to offer!”

“I find it to be a miracle—how it all comes together. The Women’s Center opened a lot of doors for me and said, ‘Come on in! You can do this! You are capable. ’ And I thought, ‘Yeah, I am.’ You come in weak, beat down, beat up and angry. You end up realizing how strong you really are. It was life changing! Every day just gets better and better.”
